Summary:
Welding and welding machine operation, jig building, leading welding department to ensure quality and on-time quality parts.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Must be able to stand for 8
hrs per day.
Must be able to lift 50
lbs.
Works with smoke, fumes, and noise
Supervisory Requirements:
Group leader for up to 8 welders
Requirements:
Essential Job Requirements:
Load and unload parts in weld fixtures.
Inspect parts for defects.
Keep work area clean and free of combustibles
Keep work area organized and clean
Keep welders in good operating condition
Alert plant manager of any repairs or needs
Program all welders as needed
Quality control of all parts
Use forklift as necessary
Verify all quantities, part numbers and skids are clearly marked
Bar code all labor
Keep changeovers quick by staging parts and having area setup ahead of time
Continually strive to improve performance and operations
Required Skills:
Knowledge of welding, robotic welders, power tools, and hand tools
Knowledge and ability to build and work with jigs
