Project Engineer

Responsible for designing and developing specific refrigeration products. Provide technical expertise on projects including product development, improvements, cost reductions or research. Design and re-design of components that incorporate the required form, function and safety, and also insure ease of manufacture. Instrumental in production start-up, testing and evaluation of product samples and prototype components. Lead team projects and project meetings to ensure the timely completion of project goals. Usually responsible for one major project and several minor projects. Provide technical support for other areas of the company such as technical product information, service, material purchasing, etc
Qualifications
B.S. in engineering (mechanical discipline preferred)
Six
years of consumer product design experience and new product development experience with transportation and/or outdoor products preferred.
Knowledge of Refrigeration and Heat Transfer
Experience with low to medium volume and cost sensitive products.
Experience with design of PUR foam process beneficial
Sheet metal and plastic part design - injection molded and thermo formed parts.
Solid analytical skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all levels of personnel.
Knowledge of applicable ARI, CSA and UL Standards desired
Solid knowledge of production and manufacturing processes.
Experience with engineering software such as SolidWorks preferred.
Hands-on approach to product development.
