Our Elkhart, Indiana plants collectively contain 10 aerosol lines, 7 liquid lines, 3 tube lines, and 2 packaging lines. KIK Elkhart procures, blends, fills and packages a wide variety aerosol and liquid personal care, pharmaceutical, and OTC consumer packaged goods.
Position Summary
We are searching for a combination Material Planner to join our Supply Chain Team at KIK Elkhart. The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of raw materials to the plant to meet our production schedules, to maintain inventory level goals, interprets changing demand, material plans and balances material inventories with the needs of a high-speed packaging facility. Our ideal candidate possesses knowledge and experience in Materials Planning, purchasing/buying in a manufacturing environment, and is a multi-tasker with above average problem solving capability.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage long term material requirement planning process for commodity and customer sets across plant network.
Assure quality of supply plan by working with suppliers to ensure compliance with confirmation processes.
Conduct capability/capacity reviews with suppliers to firm up supply plans.
Participate on reviews led by our customers.
Resolve material supply and safety stock issues with Plant material schedulers.
Ensure purchase order planning process is compliant with customer and KIK contracts and commercial or legal requirements.
Support quotes, RFQ's and standards for directed purchases.
Analyze and summarize feedback on supplier performance and capability
Support periodic review process to refresh MOQ's, safety stock levels and lead times in order to achieve service and inventory objectives.
Use integrity tools and routines to assure configuration of MRP system including quality of data.
Work with customer team to support initiatives planning
Qualifications:
College Degree preferred, HS Diploma or GED is required
Customer Service minded with good influencing skills
3 years experience in manufacturing materials planning
Knowledge of chemicals a plus
MRP Experience, JDE a definite asset
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Knowledge of commercial purchasing terms
Strong leadership skills
Must be high energy, smart with good interpersonal skills and high sense of urgency
Self motivated team player
